A smooth transition
One of the biggest challenges an incoming college freshman
will have is transitioning to be a (mostly) independent person. Going from a fairly set schedule to all the freedoms college allows can sometimes be too much. Students at Sam Houston State University now have a resource to help with their transition!
The Office of Accepted Students & Bearkat Orientation (ASBO) at Sam Houston State University has found a way to ease the transitional period for the student, as well as their family.
ASBO provides the essential tools needed for every Bearkat’s time to be successful while attending SHSU. “With purposeful programming, intentional communication, and positive introductions, ASBO fosters belonging that encourages students to persist through their college experience.”
ASBO makes the effort to help incoming freshman in addition to helping support transferring students! The transition for transfers is sometimes an easy thing to overlook, but ASBO aims to make their transition just as smooth.
For 10 years, ASBO has been working with C.C. Creations to help create a long-lasting impression on the Bearkat community as soon as they hit campus.
